In order to optimize the process parameters and to have the best refining efficiency in plasma refining of alloys such as titanium、silicon etc. Hence, this paper will present the work of simulation of plasma refining, especially the temperature distribution of plasma arc. At present, the analysis combined the energy momentum、mass transport phenomena and the relationship between the electromagnetic flow and heat transfer field in the plasma. The model of plasma refining was analyzed by finite element method with commercial software (FEMLAB). The results of the simulation are compared with the literature data and the model can be proved to be qualitatively. Precise when the comparison gives similar curves.
