Optical Properties of Calcium-Aluminate Oxide Glasses

並列摘要

Optical properties of calcium-aluminate oxide glasses were investigated by multi-phonon edge absorption, IR reflectivity and Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering techniques. These glasses exhibit high transparency over the frequency range from the near UV (0.2 μm) to the mid-IR (5 ~ 6μm). Kramers-Kronig analysis were also performed on the IR reflectivity data to obtain the structural information. Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering results show that some of the calcium-aluminate oxide glasses have lower intrinsic scattering loss than the best silica glass. These properties make them the promising candidate for a wide variety of applications ranging from laser windows, IR domes to infrared fiber optics.
