Excitation functions for the reactions 93Nb (α, n) 96Tc, 93Nb (α,2n) 95Tc, 93Nb (α,3n) 94gTc and 93Nb (α, αn) 92mNb have been measured up to an alpha-particle energy of 40 MeV, using the stacked foil activation technique. The variation of the isomeric state to the ground state reaction cross-section for the reaction (α, 2n) was also studied. Measured excitation functions are compared with pre-equilibrium geometry dependent hybrid (GDH) model calculations. It has been found that the initial exciton number n0 = 4 gives a satisfactory reproduction of the experimental data.
