台中港木麻黃林分地表燃料量推估之研究

Modeling Surface Fuel Loading of Casuarina spp. Stands at Taichung Harbor, Taiwan

摘要


本研究以樣區與樣線複合式調查法,探討台中港北側防風林區地表燃料量狀態。調查結果顯示,老齡林分由於倒木燃料量之增加致地表燃料量偏高,其次是灌木燃料量;而灌木燃料量與草本燃料量隨著木麻黃齡級增加而有越高的趨勢,其中馬纓丹分布量多寡與木麻黃林分之齡級呈現極顯著相關性。在燃料量推估上,除枯枝落葉層與分解層燃料量無法由其厚度建立外,分別利用植株高、冠幅及覆蓋度作爲參數,計建立5種地表燃料量推估式,經統計檢測後顯示所得之推估式具有可接受之推估能力。依所建立之推估式估測目前台中港木麻黃人工林之地表燃料量介於21.12-31.66 Mg/ha之間,與北美針葉林地表燃料量(26.40 Mg/ha)相近,高燃料量之林分由於具潛在大火形成之可能性,值得相關單位加以研議與因應。

The main purpose of the present paper is to model and estimate surface fuel loading of Casuarina spp. stands at the north of Taichung Harbor Area by using sampling survey. The survey was conducted by mixing 10×10 m sampling plots and line-intersect sampling. The result is mainly fallen deadwood for the high fuel loading of the undergrowth old stands and secondly is the shrub layer; the ground vegetation varied with the growth of the casuarina stands to be the higher fuel loading, the common lantana were the dominant species. Except litter and duff layers, a total of 5 regressional models using tree height, crown width of shrub and ground cover of grass respectively were modeled in an acceptable regression coefficient. Surface fuel loadings estimated by applying these equations are 21.12-31.66 Mg/ha. The result of fuel loading of this study is similar to a value of 26.40 Mg/ha from the fuel loading surveys of coniferous forests in northern America, the high fuel loading and potential fire risk needs to be concerned and found out the solution to deal with by forest management agency.
