THE DIFFERENCES OF KNOWLEDGE CONCEPT STRUCTURES ON SUPPLY AND DEMAND ASPECTS FOR ECOTOURISM IN PINGTUNG ABORIGINAL TRIBES USING FORMAL CONCEPT ANALYSIS

Ecotourism services in aboriginal tribes are needed to maintain the balance between nature conservation and economic activities. Simultaneously, it is necessary to better understand tourism demand in order to improve the quality of tourism supply. This study aims to evaluate the differences between the supply side provided by two Taiwanese aboriginal tribes (Dawadawan and Adiri) and the service requirements. Our study collected data from working meetings in aboriginal tribes and some notable virtual communities of travel. We analyzed the data by using the formal concept analysis. Our study results show that the most important topic discussed in Dawadawan working meetings was the itinerary, while few discussions focused on accommodation. In Adiri working meetings, the most important discussion topic was money, while few discussions focused on transportation. With regard to the discussion topics in some notable virtual communities of travel, the most important item was the itinerary, while few discussions were concerned with food. As accommodation and transportation are the second and third most important topics, our study concludes by suggesting that Dawadawan and Adiri should improve their services of accommodation and transportation respectively to fill the gaps between demand and supply of tourism services.
