Evaluation of Bacillus subtilis as a Bio-control Agent against Pepper Blight under Greenhouse and Field Conditions

枯草桿菌(Bacillus subtilis)防治甜椒疫病之溫室及田間效果評估

摘要


本試驗以枯草桿菌(Bacillus subtilis) BS-99菌株對Phytophtora capsici進行室內對峙培養發現,BS-99對P.capsici菌絲的生長具有抑制效果,其最高抑制半徑圈可達8.31mm。在溫室測試方面,甜椒土壤先以枯草桿菌處理1天後,再接1.5×10^5及10^6 zoospores/ml的P.capsici孢子懸浮液對甜椒疫病罹病率分別為14.8%及23.4%,單獨接種P.capsici孢子懸浮液之甜椒疫病罹病率分別為84.6%及91.7%。屏東太武地區栽培二季的甜椒田間試驗結果發現,土壤接P.capsici之前於甜椒根部先處理BS-99菌液1-3天,比BS-99先處理4-7天或施用66.5%普拔克殺菌劑400倍對甜椒疫病之防治效果較佳。因此建議田間P.capsici密度增加時,可間隔3天施用一次枯草桿菌,以提高田間防治效果。

The antagonistic activity of Bacillus subtilis against Phytophthora capsici was examined, initially in vitro with high inhibition zone radius of 8.31 mm by treatment with BS-99. B. subtilis was pretreated one day in the soil surrounding the root before the inoculation of 1.5×10^5 and 10^6 zoospores/ml concentrations of P. capsici, which controlled pepper blight significantly with a disease incidence of 14.8% and 23.4% respectively, compared with drenching P. capsici alone (84.6% and 91.7%) in the greenhouse. In addition, the field trial results of peppers cultured for two seasons at Taiwu were conducted by pre-drenching BS-99 for one to three days in the soil surrounding the root before the inoculation of P. capsici, which provided better control than predrenching BS-99 for four to seven days or the fungicidal treatment of Bayer's Previcur 66.5% SL at the recommended dilution of 1:400. In order to have a better bio-control effect against pepper blight, the results suggest that B. subtilis could be drenched in 3-day intervals as inoculums density of P. capsici increases during the growing stage.
