摘要

圖書館的目的之一在於提供資訊，而傳統的資訊提供方式已無法繼續滿足讀者的資訊需求，電腦多媒體的設計，除了可以提供快速便捷的存取空間，尚可利用聲音、影像、文字、動畫等多種媒體，運用交互學習的方式，提供不同程度、不同需求的使用者，依其不同的認知類型，設計不同的線上資訊檢索系統，提供資訊服務，共享資源、提昇知識水準。本文即針對多媒體在圖書館讀者服務上的應用作一簡單的介紹。

A main purpose of the library is to provide information. The traditional providing approaches cannot satisfy the information needs of the readers anymore. The characteristic of multimedia is active, colorful and diversified. It can use voice, image, text and animation to provide interactive practices, and enhance learning effect. The applications of multimedia in libraries and the impacts of multimedia in library readers services will be discussed in this article.
