公共圖書館與社區民眾之間有著相當密切的關係。如何將圖書館的資源和服務提供給讀者,發揮圖書館最大的功能,是未來圖書館經營的重要課題。藉由行銷理念的運用,化消極為積極的態度,爭取上級單位及讀者的支持,對於推展圖書館的各項業務將有所助益。
