Establishing Web Pages for Community Libraries: Status Quo and Suggestions

Due to the more commonly used of www, web pages of the community libraries are becoming one of the major information services. The two different web pages for the Tung-shan library are used as examples in this article and comparisons of the contents are made. The impact of the net era on information services is also discussed in the article. Three suggestions on how the contents of the community library s web pages may be established and two feasible ways are raised, with the hope to minimize the use of manpower as well as financial resources and to make the best use of non-official resources in establishing as well as maintaining the web pages.
