Since technology is increasingly changing our lives through e-learning, the library's role is becoming an important resource to shape and promote our country's knowledge-base and to compete in global competition. There is growing recognition that the library is well-suited to delivery technology-driven learning opportunities in the most appropriate way for each learner. The public library takes on a leadership role in finding the best ways to achieve e-learning opportunities by examining the range of options and their importance, as they relate to lifelong learning and formal and informal learning activities. Access to e-learning through the public library empowers learners to manage the library's resources and to extend the capability of their own learning potential. Four ways were offered for the public library in its development of e-learning activities. (1) Establishment of the library as a local document database. (2) Connections and collaboration with any other library, schools, organizations. (3) Educating library patrons to navigate the traditional and online tools and resources. (4) Transforming the public library to become a community digital center.
