The aim of this paper is to examine current loan policies of e-book readers in public libraries in the United States. Data was collected from the websites of 13 public libraries. Content analysis was used to examine the web pages of loan policies. The results suggested that lending services and related polices of e-book readers in public libraries in the U.S. are thorough, detailed, and extensive in a number of aspects. By examining the literature and the lending polices of public libraries in the U.S., the results of the analysis can provide experience for making loan policies of e-book readers in public libraries in Taiwan.
