摘要

過去，臺北市立圖書館在院轄市的豐富資源及進步的城市建設基礎上，提供市民優質的圖書資訊服務，並帶領臺灣公共圖書館事業的進步，不論行政措施、品質管理、讀者服務、國際合作、圖書館建築，或是閱讀推廣，對國內的公共圖書館發展都有重大的影響。值此成立60週年館慶之際，本文針對北市圖增設服務據點、策略規劃、品質管理、充實館藏、創新服務、生態保護、塑造形象、照顧弱勢、國際交流、推廣閱讀、數位服務及教育訓練等方面的成就，加以回顧，並彰顯其貢獻。此外，就未來的發展，北市圖如何持續精進與創新，規劃更有前瞻性的創新作為，提出淺見。

Over the years, Taipei Public Library has provided outstanding library services to the public due to its abundant resources and modern facilities. It has also been a leader for other public libraries in Taiwan. Its management policies, quality control, reader services, international cooperation, library facilities, and reading promotion programs have all had an important influence on the development of public libraries throughout the country. With its 60th anniversary celebration upon us, this paper enumerates its many achievements and contributions over the years in the areas of increased service spots, strategic planning, quality control, increased holdings, innovative services, environmental protection, image creation, care for the underprivileged, international exchanges, reading promotions, digital services, and education and training efforts. In addition, some suggestions are made for possible ways to continue its tradition of progress and innovation in the future.
