Postsurgical abdominal adhesions occasionally induce chronic pain, intestinal obstruction, female infertility and also cause problems for surgeons in future abdominal surgery. Salvage liver transplantation (SLT) has been applied for recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or for deterioration of liver function after primary liver resection for HCC. However, previous hepatectomy-related intra-abdominal adhesion is often a challenge for surgeons, particularly in patients with coagulopathy. In this report, we presented the intra-operative experience of using anti-adhesion material (Interceed) in a patient undergoing the primary liver resection followed by SLT.
