Numerical Investigation of Aerodynamic Effects on Windshield Wipers

摘要


本文以數值模擬方法來探討雨刷所受的空氣動力行爲。研究中探討雨刷桿形狀、尺寸、雨刷桿與雨刷刮片之間距離以及雨刷刮片的彎曲角度等參數,對雨刷所受升力與阻力的影響。計算結果顯示:雨刷刮片的變形僅對升力造成影響,雨刷桿卻會因其形狀、尺寸、雨刷桿與雨刷刮片之間距離改變時,對阻力與升力產生相當程度的影響。其中,雨刷桿本身的高度與雨刷桿上方開口大小對雨刷系統的阻力與升力影響最大。

Aerodynamic effects on the windshield wiper system are investigated numerically in this study. The drag coefficient and the lift coefficient are examined as a function of the shape and dimension of wiper-arm and wiper-blade, the distance between wiper-blade and wiper-arm. The calculated results show that the deformation of a wiper-blade affects the lift force only, but the shape and dimension of the wiper-arm and the distance between the wiper-blade and the wiper-arm affect both the drag force and the lift force. To conclude, the height of the wiper-arm and the aperture in the wiper-arm play important roles in the aerodynamic behavior of the wiper.
