摘要


本論文之QVCO (Quadrature Voltage Control Oscillator)是使用Colpitts差動對架構並結合底部串接(Bottom-series)的技術。使用Colpitts差動對來提升導納,且使得電路容易振盪以及底部串接技術來耦合訊號,可以降低相位雜訊而不引入主動元件之閃爍雜訊(flicker noise)。利用標準TSMC 0.18-μm 1P6M CMOS製程製作晶片。在1.8V的工作電壓,消耗功率爲15.4mW,在偏移主頻率1MHz的相位雜訊爲-133.7dBc/Hz,效能指數(figure of merit, FoM)爲-183.2,晶片面積爲0.873×0.55平方公厘。

This paper presents a QVCO which is based on differential Colpitts topology and improved with bottom-series technology. Using differential Colpitts topology, the transconduction of the circuit is enhanced and the start-up condition is improved. Using bottom-series technology, the phase noise is reduced. The prototype is implemented using TSMC 0.18 μm 1P6M CMOS process technology. With 1.8 V supply voltage, total power consumption is 15.4 mW and phase noise of the VCO is -133.7 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from the carrier frequency of 1.17 GHz. The figure of merit is -183.2. The chip area is 0.873×0.55 mm^2.
