During a survey of entomopathogenic fungi in Taiwan mountain areas, six Beauveria species, including B. australis, B. bassiana, B. lii, B. malawiensis, B. pseudobassiana, B. scarabaeidicola (= B. sungii), were isolated from diverse insect cadavers. All of them possess dense mycelia and granular-pulverulent conidial masses on the hosts, shared globose to flask-shaped short conidiogenous cells producing conidia sympodially. These species were distinguished by morphological characteristics and DNA sequences analysis. The detailed descriptions and illustrations of Beauveria species are provided in this study.
