摘要

本篇報導台灣地區職能治療發展現況，資料統計至民國79年6月止。國內有65家醫療院所設立職能治療部門，其中心理疾病職能治療佔38(58%)家，生理疾病職能治療能佔27(42%)家。從業人員共計229名，其中服務於心理疾病職能治療者為131(57%)名，服務於生理疾病職能治療者為98(43%)名。從業者的基本資料：性別為男70(31%)名、女159(69%)名。平均年齡為32歲。教育背景：受職能治療教育者為85(37%)名、其他大專者為68(30%)名及高中者為76(33%)名。工作年資平均為5.4年。人員分佈於台灣北部地區136(59%)名、中部地區30(13%)名、南部地區39(17%)名及東部地區24(11%)名。在專業教育方面：至79年度已有四所大學招收職能治療學生（台大、中山、高醫及成大等四所），每年招學生數共為135名，目前在校學生人數約為336名，未來數年將有較多專業人力投入國內職能治療的服務行列，這將有助於職能治療專業之發展。

The Survey was investigated manpower, education and distribution of current occupational therapy in Taiwan until June, 1990.
There are 65 O.T. departments in different medical settings, 58% (38) of those departments are psychiatric facilities, and 42% (27) are physical facilities. There are 229 occupational therapists, 57% (131) of them are working with psychiatric clients, and 43% (98) are working with physically disabled. The ratio of male & female is 1 to 2. The average age is 32. As to the educational background, 37% (85) of the occupational therapists have a bachelor or master degree of occupational therapy, 30% (68) graduated from universities or colleges are not major in O.T., and 33% (76) graduated from high school. The average working year is 5.4. The manpower distribution in Taiwan are as follows: 59% (136) of occupational therapists in northern part, 13% (30) in central part, 17% (39) in southern part and 11% (24) in eastern part.
There were only National Taiwan University for educating professional occupational therapy personnel in the past 20 years. And now 4 universities have their occupational therapy students in Taiwan. In the near future, there will be more and mora professional manpower that join this health profession. It will be helpful for the development of occupational therapy in Taiwan.
