The purpose of this study was to re-explore the construct validity of a handedness inventory developed by the researchers. Based on the previous study, another psychometric study was conducted again through survey research and factor analysis. Children aged 4 to 12 years from one kindergarten and one primary school in Taipei City were screened for inclusion to the study. None of the subjects in this study had been recruited in the previous study. In order to reduce study bias, suspected gifted children and those with disabilities were excluded. Data obtained from the remaining 644 children were analyzed. The item analysis was conducted and the inappropriate items were deleted. This resulted in an inventory that contained 20 items. Second factor analysis was then carried out using the principle components analysis with directed oblimin rotation. Although we expected two factors’ result, the analysis yielded only one factor.
