This paper reviewed studies about normal balance reaction and neuropathological balance deficits. Previous researches proposed different postural adjustments to maintain normal stance posture. A shema was provided for understanding the model of postural control. Also, postural control of children was compared with the mature pattern of adult. Balance deficits of patients with neurological impairment are discussed. From the scope of cerebral palsy, the standing balance deficits and possible pathology are presented. Finally, clinical approach for standing balance problem in cerebral palsy is suggested.
