This article would initially like to put forth a definition of political dialectics. Then from passages in the ”Guo Yu”, I would like to discuss its dialectics from three angles: a.) The relationship between a political leader and constituents is one of a contrasting dialectic. The two sides often shift between harmony and conflict in striving for the most beneficial relationship. b.) In the inner ranks of the political elite, there should be an intuitive maintaining of a ”harmony and difference” political situation. c.) There are mutual influences between internal politics and external dealings and warfare. This essay would also like to discuss the origins of these dialectics and other historical influences. This would include their relationship with other political thinking and philosophical dialectics of the time.
