摘要

聖多瑪斯的《神學大全》(Summa Theologiae)，內容上乃全方位的神學，可是，方法上則是全方位的哲學。這全方位的哲學進路：從「知識論」的入門，經「形上學」的體，到「倫理學」的用。由於其大著內容為神學，所探討的內容多為「啟示」，多為「從彼岸來的信息」，而遠超乎吾人的理性功能。但是，亦由於其方法為哲學的思辯，故吾人仍然可以放膽去討論。 《神學大全》一開始就以「知識」的方法，躍入「特殊形上學」(Metaphysica Specialis)的內涵，即天、地、人三才的分別課題中。對「天」（天主）的「存在」問題，「本質」問題，「活動」問題，加以詳盡的探討。本論文針對「天主的活動」：創造和治理世界，作進一步的探討。 事實上，「天」（天主）的活動：創造，也就連帶地牽動了「地」（世界）的起源問題；世界（包含人類和天使）的「從無變有」(Creaturaex nihilo)，恰好是「天」（天主）的「從無創造」(Creatio ex nihilo)所促成。天人之際有著密不可分的因果關係。 存在一次不稀奇，不斷地繼續存在就不簡單。天主創造了世界（包含人類和天使），又衛護住世界一直存在下去，確實是奇蹟。吾人且就開始一探其究竟。

Thomas Aquinas's Summa Theologica is a comprehensive theology in terms of content. And yet, in terms of methodology, it's a comprehensive philosophy. This is a comprehensive philosophical approach: introduced through ”epistemology,” embodied by ”metaphysics” and applied to ”ethics.” Basically a work of theology, Summa Theologica explores mostly ”revelation” and the ”message from the other shore,” something far beyond one's rational function. But due to its methodology of philosophical speculation, we can still discuss this work liberally.
In the beginning, Summa Theologica leaps right into the immanence of ”Metaphysica Specialis”-the issues of heaven, earth, and man-through the epistemological methodology, investigating in details the questions about the ”existence”, ”nature” and ”activity of ”heaven” (God). This paper makes further inquiry on the ”activity of God”: creating and governing the universe.
Actually, the activity of heaven (God)-creation-is connected to the origin of earth (the world); ”Creatura ex nihilo” of the world (including man and angels) is indeed facilitated by ”Creatio ex nihilo” of heaven (God). Between heaven and man, there is a close and inseparable cause-and-effect relationship.
As one-time existence is nothing special, continual and everlasting existence is something unique. The fact that God created the world (including man and angels) and has been defending and protecting its existence is indeed a miracle.
Now the writer is about to explore this miracle.
