Taizhou School, in the middle of the Ming dynasty, is a Confucian school with a typical tendency of plebification, and many of the extraordinary ones of which came from the lower class of the society. What this article narrates about is one of the descendants of Taizhou School-Hanzhen, and his life tracks and moral demeanors as a Confucian who is born a potter. This article affirmed him as a reclusive saint with lofty temperament cultivation. By introducing the life of a civil Confucian scholar like Hanzhen, this article helps readers to differentiate the personal characteristics between ordinary recluses and civil Confucians, who have noble moralities, the social ideal of influencing people and forming moral customs, and actively practice.
