"The Analects of Confucius" is an anthology about the thought, words and deeds of Confucius and his followers. Among them, the Confucians carried forward and interpreted Confucius thought. But there was a turn and inconsistence in the course of carrying on and interpreting Confucius thought. The former indicates the transition of thought between Confucius and Mencius and Hsun Tzu. The latter contains the thinking sprout of a hundred schools of thought contending during the Warring States period. From this we can see that the Confucian school is a school of thought of both dominance and pluralistic factors. Its brilliant influence denotes a common sense: the meaning of thought lies in the plurality and development.
