生命本真氣象的顯現-論孟子的「充實之謂美」

The Manifestation of Real Life Temperament-Fullness is Beauty of Mencius

摘要


海內外對孟子思想已有相當充分的研究,然而,對孟子美學的研究並不多,尤其是「充實之謂美」的命題,其內涵和價值還有不少值得深入探討的地方。「充實之謂美」是指個體通過自我完善、確立自身的主體性並彰顯真實而完整生命存在的氣象。「充實」的方法有三:「感通」立基於美感的共通性與普遍性,「養氣」、「盡心」的「身心一體論」以及否定性的人性論詮釋。孟子肯定了身體存在的意義,並把身體作為「心」與性的呈現媒介;他通過對「美」與「善」的區分,又深刻的揭示了二者內在的一致性;肯定了「美」是一個動態的、需要努力去實現的過程,在中國美學史上具有重要意義。

There are rich and profound studies about Mencius thought, however, there is not so much reseach on Mencius aesthetics. There are still many aspects to be further studied on Mencius concept of Fullness is beauty. Mencius regards the effective communion as the foundation of Fullness. He affirms the meaning of body and reveals the internal consistency of Beauty and Goodness. This concept means Beauty is a dynamic process that need to be realized. It's of great significance in the history of Chinese aesthetics.
