Foreign bodies aspiration into airway is a common problem in the infant and young children. Severe damage to the respiratory tract or even fatal to the child will happen if there is no accurate diagnosis and timely intervention. We report a case of foreign body aspiration – a three-year-old girl, who was suffered from prolonged (more than three months) intermittent cough and recurrent pneumonia. The diagnosis was documented under the aids of chest x-ray, CT scan and bronchoscopy. Complete recovery was achieved after the removal of the foreign body with thoracotomy. The course, clinical manifestation, diagnosis and prognosis of the foreign body aspiration were discussed as well.
