Diagnosis of Prostatic Infarct with Needle Biopsy: Report of Three Cases

摘要
以細針切片診斷攝護腺更塞較為困難，病例通常合併攝護腺踵大，並可能有急性尿液瀦溜，血尿及血清PSA值大量升高現象。我們報告三例病例，其中兩例於組織切片發現動脈硬化。病例之PSA值通常於數週內降低。

We present 3 cases of prostatic infarct diagnosed by needle biopsy, all of them had symptoms of acute urinary retention before biopsy and had unusually high prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels (77.6, 66.2, and 46.5 ng/ml), which dropped to rather low values within weeks (18.5ng/mL after 4 weeks, 14.7 ng/mL after 5 weeks, and 13.6 ng/mL after 6 weeks, respectively). Two of them were found to have atherosclerotic arterioles adjacent to the infarct areas in the biopsy specimens, and 2 of these were confirmed by subsequent transurethral resection of the prostate.
