Progress on Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells

On Nov 19(superscript th), 20(superscript th) and 30(superscript th), Cell, Science, and Nature announced that several defined factors can induce human somatic cells into pluripotent stem cells that nearly exhibit the essential characteristics of embryonic stem cells. And mouse IPS (induced pluripotent stem) cells have been used to treat humanized sickle cell anemia mouse model. Recently，the research on IPS cells by independent groups acquired remarkable progress and attention. The hot spots about reprogramming of somatic cells, dedifferentiation and the resource of pluripotent stem cells have become even hotter, and gained an impressive jump.
