The origin of Oriental medicine, including acupuncture, is attributed to ancient China. The acupuncture had been imported into Japan in the sixth century, later the therapy developed its unique characteristics, and thus the Japanese acupuncture is fairly different from its Chinese origin. This article illustrates two acupuncture point charts that were created and printed in Taiwan back in 1917 during the Japanese governance of Taiwan. The feature of the charts and a comparison between the charts and the current WHO standard acupuncture point locations were also discussed.
