水稻新品種花蓮21號之育成及特性

摘要

水稻新品種花蓮21號由本場於2008年第二期作育成，本品種源自於1998年第二期作，以米粒外型及株型皆優良的美國水稻品種S301作為母本，與具有高產、耐稻熱病及褐飛蝨之台中秈10號進行雜交，再以雜交後的第一代為母本與米質優良的台稉9號進行雜交，於1999年第二期作起依譜系法進行分離世代之培育與選拔，至2001年第二期作建立品系（品系代號為花稉育53號），繼而於2002至2003年間晉級初級、高級產量試驗及進行各項特性與病蟲害檢定，試驗期間因表現優異，乃推薦參加2004年組之區域試驗，因表現優良，於2008年11月11日提送作物新品種審查會議通過。水稻花蓮21號為中晚熟型水稻品種，第一期作平均生育日數為129天、株高約99公分、產量約6,957公斤/公頃，第二期作平均生育日數為120天、株高約97.2公分、產量約5,185公斤/公頃，並具有食味佳、生長勢與分蘗性強、產量高、耐稻熱病、抗褐飛蝨、對二化螟蟲抗性優於對照品種、脫粒性適中等優良特性，適合台灣各地區一、二期作種植，是一個兼顧品質與產量的優良品種。

A new rice variety Hualien No. 21 was developed and released in 2008 by Hualien DARES. This variety was derived by a pedigree selection from cross S301, TaichungSen No. 10 and Taikeng No. 9 from the 2nd crop of 1998 to the 1st crop of 1999. Hualien No. 21 is middle-late maturing rice. The growth duration, the height and the average yield are 129 days, 99 cm and 6,957 kg/ha for the first crop and 120 days, 97.2 cm and 5,185 kg/ha for the second crop in the regional test respectively. Hualien No. 21 with wide adaptability, the resistance to the rice blast diseases and brown plant hopper, as well as excellent eating quality characteristics is suitable for either single cropping or double cropping in Taiwan.
