EFFECTS OF X-IRRADIATION ON THE SERUM PROTEIN, HEPATIC PROTEIN AND NUCLEIC ACIDS IN THE GUINEA PIGS

X射線對豚鼠血清蛋白,肝蛋白和肝核酸之影響

摘要


The effects of X-ray irradiation on the concentration of the serum proteins, the hepatic protein and nucleic acids in the guinea pigs were studied. The results of this study revealed that X-irradiation invariably decreased the concentrations of the hepatic protein, total serum protein and serum albumin. However, the serum globulin of higher-dose animals showed a rebound phenomenon after the thir-the thirteenth day post-irradiation. The results also revealed that the X-rays played a significant inhibitory effect on the hepatic nucleic acids in the guinea pigs (p<0.01), the higher the dosage of X irradiation is, the lower the concentration of hepatic DNA and RNA were. However, .both of them, recovered gradually after the fifth day post-irradiation.
