鼻咽部血管纖維瘤手術前之超選擇性外頸動脈栓塞術－二例報告－
PREOPERATIVE SUPERSELECTIVE EXTERNAL CAROTID ARTERIAL EMBOLIZATION FOR ANGIOFIBROMAS OF NASOPHARYNX
摘要
本文報告二例鼻咽部青年型血管纖維瘤，於外科手術切除前，使用彈簧栓子（coil）作超選擇性上頜內動脈（Internal maxillary artery）栓塞術，可避免外科手術時大量出血，而且可使手術時間縮短。

Preoperative embolization of the internal maxillary artery is a very useful procedure before surgical treatment of juvenile angiofibromas of the nasopharynx. We have used preoperative coil embolization of the internal maxillary artery in two patients, and the result is successful with dramatic reduction of bleeding during operation comparison with previous patients. This superselective arterial embolization with coil was not only considered to be convenient than with gelfoam, invalon or silicone suspension but also to eliminate the possibility of unexpected embolization of other adjacent arteries.
