摘要

本文報告一例原因不明的海綿實(cavernous sinus)慢性發炎，引起疼痛性眼肌麻痺(painful ophthalmoplegia)症狀。血管攝影發見海綿竇內的頸動脈呈現不規則外形。電腦攝影檢查海綿竇為正常。經使用類固醇(steroid)治療後，症狀消失。

The TOLOSA-HUNT syndrome (THS) consists of recurrent, unilateral painful ophthalmoplegia due to a nonspecific inflammation in the cavernous sinus and/or superior orbital fissure. This syndrome must be differentiated from other causes of painful ophthalmoplegia due to trauma, tumor, aneurysm and specific infection. It responds dramatically to steroid therapy. Computed tomographic study is helpful in this situation, but angiography is still an essential adjunct in ruling out aneurysm or mass lesion. Recently we have encountered one case of THS. A brief history and radiological examination are discribed and the literature is reviewed.
