A 4-bar rice transplanting mechanism was investigated in this study. The mathematical expressions of sensitivity analysis on the transplanting trajectory were derived first. Yu-Nung transplanter was chosen as an example. The finite difference method was used to verify the expression. The consistency was shown. Based on the sensitivity information, bar charts were drawn to illuminate the influence of each design variable on the trajectory. Furthermore, deviating each link witin±10% from the original length, the changes of trajectory were shown. Changing the length of rocker has the most significant effect on the trajectory. This strategy is commonly used in the commercial product to accommodate the transplanter to various working environments. The information provided by this study is valuable.
