In this paper, a low-allergenicity and high-fastness conductive yarn was prepared by a conductive-paste development, fiber-surface modification, and continuous coating technology. A conductive silver paste with good dispersion and adhesion is developed by a suitable solvent in combination with an adhesive polymer resin, additive and silver flake. After that, the conductive yarn is mass-produced by a continuous wire-dip-coating machine, havinga near-infrared light drying system. Therefore, by combining the silver paste and fibers, we successively prepare alow-allergenicity and high-fastness conductive yarn. A conductive silver-coated yarn having an average outer diameter of 95d, cross-cut adhesion of 5B and a linear resistance of 9.7 x 10^1Ω/cm has been prepared. In addition, the skin-irritation and -allergenicity tests were passed. This study demonstrates a reliable and rapid preparation technology for conductive fabrics applied to physiological sensing and medical care in electronic textiles.
