摘要


Linux Test Project(LTP)是一個專門針對Linux核心(包含嵌入式Linux)的穩定性和可靠度做分析測試的一項計畫。它的存在得以讓Linux核心發展的穩定性有了一個標準驗證程序。當我們想要將某一套穩定並且已經驗證過的Linux核心移植到某個特定應用目的即時嵌入式Linux系統,無論是簡化版或是完整版所做的Linux核心設計變更,它的穩定性都需要明確的被驗證過。這時候LTP便扮演著監督者的角色。 此外,在一個大型且複雜的整合性系統中,我們可能會需要針對各個次系統進行有組織的“自動化”驗證。STAF便是扮演這樣的角色。STAF是一個開放源碼自動化組織,專為設計可以重複使用的元件的理念而成立的,它打算讓所產生可以自動化的測試項目(testcases)和工作負荷(workloads)更容易操作。STAF可以用來幫助您提升您的測試效率、生產力以及品質來改良您的自動化程序。一旦系統可以接受自動化,盡可能使用自動化測試或是修改成能夠很容易支援自動化的測試方法。自動化可以允許很快且重複的測試,並且降低人為錯誤的風險。 本篇文件是討論有關於Linux Test Project的實作內容過程和如何在STAF/STAX環境平台下建立環境以及整合測試,有關於LTP的測試結果分析並不在本篇文件中說明。

Linux Test Project (LTP) is a program designed specifically for the analytical testing of the stability and reliability of the Linux kernel (including Embedded Linux System). Its existence allows for the standard verification procedure for the Linux kernel development. When we want to transfer a set of stable and verified Linux kernels to a specifically designated Real-Time Embedded System, no matter if it's developed by simplified or complete version of the Linux kernel design change, its stability has to be clearly verified. This is where the LTP watches over this certification. Also, in a large and complex integrated system, we may have to proceed with automated systematic verification toward each subsystem. STAF is designed for this role. STAF is an automation society of open source codes, formed by the idea of designing a repeatedly used component, it is intended for the simplification of the automated testcases and workloads. STAF can be used to help you increase the proficiency of the testing efficiency, productivity, and quality to improve your automatic procedure. Once the system is able to accept automation, try to use automatic testing or tunning that can be easily modified for automation. Automation allows for a very quick and repetitive testing, and lowers the risk of human mistakes. This article is for the discussion about the actual operation of the Linux Test Project and how to develop and integrate testing under the STAF/STAX platform environment. The actual analytical testing results of the LTP is not explained in this article.
