摘要

本文探討目前行動網路定位技術(Mobile Location Technology)之發展現況。傳統的位置服務(Location Based Service; LBS)是以專用裝置為基礎，並不具備行動資料傳輸(Mobile data communication)的能力，所搭載的內容也是固定的，無法即時更新，而行動位置服務(Mobile Location Based Service; MLBS)即是加上了行動通訊並用於行動裝置之上。在後續章節中我們依序分析MLBS與LBS的不同，並概括的說明了此間技術的發展概況、市場概況與全球各分區的最新情勢。

This article discusses current developments of Mobile Location Technology. Traditional LBS (Location Based Service) is based on a special-purpose device without the ability of mobile data communications. The contents, rather than dynamically and frequently updated, are static. On the other hand, MLBS (Mobile Location Based Service) upgrades the LBS by means of a mobile communication device which has data communications ability. We compare the differences between LBS and MLBS and describe the current technology outlook, the market overview and the trends over regions on this planet.
