3D Multi-View Video Coding Techniques and Applications

摘要


本文將介紹日益蓬勃發展的3D立體編碼的相關領域及技術。各式各樣的3D立體顯示技術及設備不斷的進步,使我們能夠體驗到最真實的立體感知。為了要能活用這些設備,需要龐大的影像資料,其背後的儲存及傳輸都會是棘手的問題,因此新一代的影像編碼標準MVC便被提出來做為壓縮這些影像資料的手段。本文將會分成三個部份,分別介紹有關日新月異的3D立體顯示設備、多視點的影像壓縮編碼標準及技術、以及如何傳輸及儲存這些媒體資訊。

This article describes the developing fields and techniques related to three-dimensional objects. The improvements of 3D display devices and technology let us feel the most real perception of objects in virtual world. In order to facilitate these equipments, it needs a lot of image and video data to processing behind. But, the storage and transmission of this tremendous amount of data is very critical. Thus, the new generation of video coding standard - MVC(Multi-view Video Coding) is introduced to compress these video data. We will describe these topics in three parts: 3D display devices, multi-view video coding, and transmission and storage of these data.
