Sarcomatoid Carcinoma of the Oropharynx-Case Report
口咽類肉瘤癌－病例報告

Sarcomatoid carcinoma (SC) is a rare, but highly malignant, variant of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) characterized by dysplastic epithelial and stromal elements with invasive spindle cells. It accounts for about 1% to 4% of all SCCs with male predominance and an incidence peak in the sixth and seventh decades of life. The development of SC is associated with alcohol use, tobacco use, and previous radiotherapy. Here, we present a rare case of SC arising from the oropharynx in a 70-year-old male presenting with globus sensation and odynophagia. This patient was successfully managed with excision and radiotherapy over a 1-year follow-up period.

類肉瘤癌為麟狀上皮癌的一種變異，少見且具有高惡性度，病理特徵為同時具有變異性上皮及基質成分，並且伴有侵襲性的梭狀細胞。臨床上類肉瘤癌約佔麟狀上皮癌的1％至4％，以男性居多，而發生率最高約落在50至69歲之間。其危險因子包含了抽菸、喝酒、與放射線暴露史。我們提出的案例為1名70歲男性，最初以喉嚨異物感及吞嚥疼痛為主訴，經切片檢查之後證實為類肉瘤癌。病患在接受手術及放射線治療後反應良好，目前已於門診追蹤1年且無復發之跡象。
