Media literacy has already became a basic literacy in the 21st century's life. Recently the educational authorities of our government begin to promote media literacy education on school's curricula, but there are some problems on teaching practices. This article would discuss these problems from critical pedagogy perspectives on an action research. What is the essence of education on critical pedagogy perspectives? The point is democratic. Media literacy education should help students to understand social hegemony, offer opportunities to resist, criticize and reflect, then become a subject, not a object. The purpose of this research is how plan a good media literacy education and proceed it on a social studies curriculum in a primary school.
