水平性斜視之手術效果

Surgical Effect of Horizontal Heterotropia

並列摘要

Forty one cases of esotropia and thirteen cases of exotropia were operated upon and the results are analysed. Monocular recession-resection method was used in the mjaority for both types of horizontal strabismus. In a small number of mild heterotropia recession alone was used. A small number of cases of tucking is included, but is now discarded by us because of rather--poor result. In only one case was operated on both eyes at the same time, consisting of recession of L. M. R, advancement of L. L. R. and resection of R. L. R, with satisfactory result. A criteria for cure proposed by Dr. Dyer is used for esotropia, while Dr. Swan’s criteria is for exotropia. The cases which have been followed tip for less than 112 year are put into a non-follow-up group. In followed-up group 14 among 23 in esotropia and 2 of 3 in exotropia belong to satisfactory group. The earlier the operation is done the better is the result. Cases associated with amblyopia or vertical muscle imbalance showed poorer result. It has been shown that added post-operative orthoptic training is helpful in obtaining persistent functional cure. Because monocular recession-resection method produced a substantial number of satisfactory group, obtained better results than other methods, and without undesirable post-operative effects, the authors continue to favor this procedure.
