Ishihara's Sogo plates for colorblind-ness and Tokyo Medical College Color Vision Test were used for screening National Tatwan University students. Among 8050 male students 430 were abnormal (5.34±0.25%), while 10 among 4342 female students (0.23±0.01%) were found abnormal. There is no statistical difference between the incidence of two groups of Taiwanese and Mainlander. Anomaloscope was used for the classification of the abnormals in 87 male and 5 female. Among 87 male tested with Anomaloscope deutanopia occupied the greatest proportion of 31.03%, followed by deutanomalia 27.59%, extreme deutanomalia 14.94%, protanopia 13.79%, protanomalia 9.20% and extreme protanomalia (3.45%) is the least. The VIIth table of Ishihara's Sogo plate was found inadequate for screening. No one case of tritanopia or tritanomalia was detected using T.M.C. plate in the all examinee of 12,392.
