摘要

1. Among 18 patients with primary angle closure glaucoma and 16 patients with chronic open angle glaucoma, central corneal endothelial cell density were studied and compared fellow eye.
2. Average endothelial cell loss: in acute angle closure glaucoma: affected eyes mean 1962±514 S.D., fellow eyes mean 2367±167 S. D., mean difference 17.2% (p＜0.001 (average)c stastic significance). In chronic open angle glaucoma affected eyes mean 2212±217 S. D., fellow eyes 2356±199 S.D., mean difference 6.1% (p＜0.01 (average)c stastic significance). 3. In acute angle closure glaucoma, cell loss was related (average)c duration of attack and 3 cases more than one episode of attack, cell loss was higher (57%).
4. In chronic open angle glaucoma, the cell loss was insignificant.
