Cryptophthalmos is a condition of total ablepharon wherein there is a complete failure of the lifd-olds. It's a rare, usually bilateral congenital malformation. We can note that the eyelid folds are replaced by skin which passes from the forehead over the eye onto the cheek, simultaneously all the palpebral structures appear to be missing. Zehender and Manz are the original observers who coined the term cryptophthalmos in 1872. Up today, some incomplete from of cryptophthalmos cases have been reported, while the inferior eyelid seems to be normal. Also other systemic deformities associated with cryptophthalmos have been reported, including cleft palate, syndactyl, malformation of the genitalia, and aplasia of the kidney etc. Our case was a 8-ear-old girl with the unilateral, complete form of the cryptophthalmos, wherein were absent of eyebrow, eye-lashes and other relating part.
