Better Localization of Periorbital or Intraorbital Foreign Body with Reconstructed Three-Dimensional Computer Tomography-Case Report

三度空間重組電腦斷層在眼眶周邊或眼眶內異物之精確定位―病例報告

摘要


目的:報告一例眼瞼皮下異物,在傳統電腦斷層下難以判斷其定位,而以立體重組電腦斷層則可精確定位其位置。 方法:病例報告。 結果:一名50歲男子在跌倒頭部外傷後並無明顯眼部不適症狀,經電腦斷層檢查發現在右眼窩內側有一金屬異物,在以電腦輔助立體重組電腦斷層後,發現該異物位在眼瞼皮下,將皮膚切開一小切口後順利取出異物。 結論:在新的電腦科技輔助下,將傳統電腦斷層影像以立體重組後,可提供更精確的眼眶部異物定位。

Purpose: To report a novel medical imaging technique valuable in the differentiation of a patient with eyelid foreign body that could be mistaken as an intraorbital foreign body by conventional computer tomography (CT). Method: Case report Result: A 50-year-old male patient suffered from falling face down during work. A metallic foreign body in the medial aspect of right orbit was found by conventional CT. Further computer-assisted three-dimensional CT (3D CT) images revealed subdermal foreign body in the upper eyelid. The foreign body was removed smoothly through small skin incision. Conclusion: With the help of 3D CT images, precise localization of periorbital or intraorbital foreign body could be possible.
