社會網絡分析醫學研究部門在醫院期刊發表的成果

Using social network analysis for evaluating the performance of medical research department in a hospital

摘要


醫院評鑑規範醫學中心需在醫學研究上做出貢獻。醫院成立醫學研究部協助各科室部門發表學術期刊。傳統上,醫院以年度發表期刊篇數當作學術研究上的貢獻。邇來,社會網絡分析技術的進步,容易分析醫院內各部門在期刊發表上的成果。本研究蒐集某醫學中心最近三年的學術發表論文,及第1作者與共同作者間的連結,卡方檢定年度及期刊別變數間的獨立性及其趨勢檢定,利用UCINET及Pajek的社會網絡分析軟體,以2013及2014年資料迴歸分析預測2015年的期刊發表。內度指標(包含自己部門為第1作者及受邀擔任共同作者的數量)作為評估醫院醫學研究部的角色與成果的依據。結果發現,年份及期刊別的變項間關係呈獨立性且呈具趨勢性。圖示分析及迴歸分析顯示醫學研究部在醫院期刊發表的成果與貢獻。社會網絡分析可以成為年度分析各部門期刊發表成果的比較依據,也可以圖像分析部門間的合作成果,利用資訊軟體來提升醫院的管理技能。

Hospital accreditation stipulated that Medical Centers should play more roles in contributing medical researches. Some hospitals have set up their departments of medical research for helping other staff publish academic papers. Traditionally, performances are evaluated with the annual number of articles published in journals as the results of academic achievement. Recently, with the technique evolution of social network analysis, evaluating the collaboration of staff in paper publication is more available and easier than ever before. Collecting data with names of first author and their links to the co-authors in recent 3-year published journals from a medical center in southern Taiwan, we performed Chi-square test in evaluating the independence and trend of two variables of years and types of papers, and then used both UCINET and Pajek software for predicting the 2015 outcome effectiveness using both data yielded from 2013 and 2014. The input degree (including both cooperation and their own contribution to the paper publication with the first author) was used for investigating the performance of the medical research department. The results we found are (1) the independence and trend were evident of the two variables of years and types of papers, (2) the performance in medical research department was significantly shown in two ways of graphical representation and regression analysis. Social network can be used in comparison for an annual evaluation of journal paper publication across hospital departments and in collaboration using the visual pattern-like software to upgrade the management technique in a hospital.
