Applying Kansei Engineering and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation for the Design of Kitchen Island

整合感性工學與模糊綜合評估於廚房中島設計之研究

摘要


中島(Kitchen Island)已經成為廚房中不可或缺的一個產品,主要的產品功能為增加廚房空間的運用並提升家庭的生活水平。然而,消費者在選擇廚房中島產品時,往往無法精確描述他們所需要的產品外觀、材質、與功能等。對於產品的設計過程,傳統的產品設計則過分依賴設計師以主觀的想法跟概念去設計產品,但是這樣設計出來的產品通常無法滿足大部分的使用者偏好。本研究提出一整合感性工學(Kansei Engineering, KE)與模糊綜合評判(Fuzzy Synthetic Evaluation)理論之產品設計之流程,並以廚房中島為例實際應用,協助廚具廠商在中島產品的設計過程中,提出能夠讓消費者滿意之設計,且協助產品開發設計師能夠有完整的資訊進行設計,減少產品概念開發的時間。經由驗證實驗,比較設計圖與感性語彙之符合程度,74%以上的顧客認同感性語彙之產品設計。故本研究所提出之感性工學設計流程,一方面能讓產品的設計滿足消費者需求,另一方面能夠減少產品設計的時間。

Kitchen islands designs have become one of the most requested features for consumers who are searching for a new home. Usually consumers are well aware of their basic needs, but often have little idea onkitchen islands' appearance, types, materials, functions, and terminology showing important information. To capture the true demand of the customers, kitchen designers usually spend a lot of time on communication and modify the drawings. Today's trendsin product development indicate that inclusion of consumer's need to the technical aspect of product design will determine their success in the market. This paper presents an approach based on Kansei Engineering and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to translate customer implicitneeds into applicable alternative combinations in product design stage. The kitchen island is chosen as a case to explore the feasibility of the research. A confirmation testwas performed and the results indicated that kitchen islands generated by the proposed methods have at least 74% of closeness to the customers' subjective impression. Therefore, the study provides a useful method for designers in kitchen islandproducts that can meetcustomers' implicit needs in reducing the time of research and development in early stage.
