TOWARDS REACH: CRUCIAL CONTROL PROCESSES REQUIRED BY A WEAVING AND DYEING FACTORY

In Taiwan, the weaving and dyeing factory plays an important role on textile industry. Its finished dyeing fabric makes a main source of foreign exchange. Exploring a control process of weaving and dyeing factory to react to Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) therefore becomes essential. In this paper, a backcasting method is applied to assist the control process framework development. The proposed framework consists of three modules of the green supplier management, green product management, and the REACH regulation information passing management, which are presented in six control processes. A unified modeling language (UML) model is shown to elaborate on these processes and their correlations in detail. Finally, the control processes for empirical interviews are summarized to provide improvement points and research direction in the future.
