The purpose of this study was to explore the influencing factors for perception of preventive behaviors and risk factors of pressure sores among the family caregivers of hospitalized patients in a medical center. A self-designed interview questionnaire was used for data collection. After 2 months’data collection, a total of 60 valid interview questionnaires were used for data analysis. 63.3% of pressure-sore caregivers live together with their patients. The results indicated that perception of influencing and high risk factors were no significant difference between the families of pressure sore patients and the families of high risk patients. The more experiences of caregiving the families had, the more knowledge of pressure sore pressure sores and risk factors they indicated. Also, male family members reported more knowledge of pressure sore preventive behaviors than female family caregivers.
