核研所動物研究用旋轉式正子放射電腦斷層造影系統之研製

The development of INER rotating positron emission tomography scanner for animal imaging

摘要


核能研究所物理級研發完成一套具有2.73mm空間解析度的小型動物研究用旋轉式正子放射電腦斷層造影系統(Animal Rotating Positron Emission Tomography,ARO-PET)。ARO-PET系統有5.04cm×4.48cm的照野範圍(field of view),可以做小動物實驗的正子造影。系統以條列模式(list mode)儲存資料,對影像前置處理與影像重建等程式與處理方法均可彈性異動,所以相當適合做為研究用機種。ARO-PET系統具有二維平面投影及三維斷層兩種成像功能。二維平面投影成像無需旋轉偵檢器,功能類似加馬攝影機,可獲得二維的平面投影影像。此成像模式可應用於分析示蹤藥物在體內分佈的特性。三維斷層成像模式可獲得三十一個橫切面斷層影像,此模式類似一般的環式PET系統,惟偵檢器數目較少,需轉動90°才可完成掃描。本文介紹ARO-PET系統(含偵檢器、資料擷取、成像處理)的研製及系統空間解析度的測試結果,此外假體實驗與動物實驗的結果亦將在文內討論。

A Rotating Positron Emission Tomography(ARO-PET)scanner with 2.73mm spatial resolution was developed at the Physics Division, the Institute of Nuclear Energy Research. The field of view of this system is 5.04cm×4.48cm,which is fit for imaging small animals. The list-mode data storage for flexible pre-and post-reconstruction processes is suitable for research requirements also. By ARO-PET, animals can be imaged in two modes. One is similar to a gamma camera in which the detectors do not need to rotate and a 2-D planar projection imaging is obtained. This mode is used for the initial characterization of bio-distribution of tracers. For the tomographic mode, the detectors are rotated through 90°;thirty-one tomographic images can be obtained. This mode resembles a conventional 3-DPET scan using a partial detector ring. The development of the ARO-PET system(including detectors, data acquisition, imaging)and the spatial resolution performance are described in this paper. The results of the phantom tests and animal tests are presentedalso.
