車用電池負極材料之非晶型碳材研究

摘要


石墨是鋰離子電池中最廣泛使用的負極材料,但由於石墨本身的異向性結構影響,導致它在車用動力電池的設計考量受到限制如安全性、使用壽命、殘電量管理、回充快放能力、價格高低。因此,針對動力電池需求與中油低價重質油料的再利用,同時加上動力電池市場尚未開發及相關母專利即將失效,這些利基因素使中油投入開發重質油在負極材料之非晶型碳材的高值化應用研究。經由原料端油料的篩選與成份分析如芳烴含量、硫含量、碳氫比例、灰份含量等選擇與設計,探討轉化反應的溫度壓力等參數。透過半電池特性如電容量與不可逆性的研究,逐步挑選出較合適的重質油料,嘗試建立油料、材料、性能三方面的特性連結,建立自主的材料開發與測試平台,為一些低價油料的再利用提供了高值化機會,以因應發展電動車產業所需要開發之技術。

Graphite is widely used as an anode material for lithium ion batteries. However, its anisotropic structure has limited its application on vehicle power battery, with design considerations such as safety, cycle life, the management in capacity, charge/discharge rate and cost. Based on the factors of niche: (1) the increasing demand of power battery, (2) the reuse of low-priced heavy oil in CPC corporation, (3) the untapped market of vehicle power battery, and (4) the overdue of related mother patents, CPC is trying to develop the high-value products, the amorphous carbon as an anode material for power battery, from heavy oil. The component analysis (aromatics, sulfur, C/H ratio, and ash content) of different crude oils as well as the effects of reaction temperature/pressure on the coin-cell battery's performance (capacity and irreversibility) are studied in detail in order to choose the appropriate feedstock for amorphous carbon production. The relationships of crude oils, anode materials and battery performance are also discussed. We have been building up the material research and characterization platform on our own feedstocks, not only to meet the high needs of battery materials for electric vehicles, but also to promote the high-value petrochemical industry from low-price oils in Taiwan.
